A couple of Canucks prospects have started 2020 off on the right foot. Jett Woo is putting up points in an expanded role, Nils Hoglander is building off his World Juniors dominance now that he’s back, in the SHL and Brogan Rafferty is still atop the AHL scoring list for defenders.

  • Jett Woo assisted on a power-play goal in the Hitmen’s first game this week and dished a sweet backdoor pass in the following game. This gives him 1 goal and 7 assists during his 7-game point streak. His defence partner, Egor Zamula, is out for the remainder of the season to undergo back surgery. This is a big blow to the Hitmen as they are losing a point-per-game defenceman in the midst of a wildcard fight. Expect Woo to become the focal point on Calgary’s back end.

  • Carson Focht was held scoreless this week.
  • Ethan Keppen kept his feet moving and scored a nice wrap-around goal on Friday night.

  • Arturs Silovs was pelted with 51 shots in a 5-2 loss against the London Knights. His record moves to 9-10-1 with a 0.883 sv%.

  • Will Lockwood and Michigan started the New Year off on the right foot with back-to-back victories over Notre Dame. Lockwood had 2 assists, a primary and secondary, with 7 shots.
  • Tyler Madden stays hot with another goal. His 16 goals on the year rank him third in the nation.

  • Aidan McDonough was pointless in NE’s one game but was a +2.
  • Jack Rathbone had a secondary assist on the power-play this week. Rathbone is riding a 4-game point streak.
  • Jack Malone was scoreless in 2 games as a +2 with 2 shots.

  • Vasili Podkolzin returned from World Junior silver to SKA in the KHL and played on the fourth line where he skated for 8:26 TOI. He registered 2 shots and was on the ice for a goal for and a goal against.

  • After impressive World Junior Championship performances, Nils Hoglander and Dominik Bokk have brought continued their strong play in the SHL. In 2 games this week, Nils Hoglander had the primary assist to both of Dominik Bokk’s goals. He ranks fifth in the SHL for U20 point-per-game scoring.

  • Arvid Costmar was scoreless in 2 Allsvenskan games this week.

  • Karel Plasek is back in the Czech Extraliga and scored a goal in 3 games this week.

  • Petrus Palmu had a primary-assist in 2 games this week.
  • Toni Utunen did not suit up for Tappara this week.

  • Brogan Rafferty continues to lead the AHL in defencemen scoring, tacking on another 3 primary-assists in the Comets’ 3 games this week.

  • Kole Lind had 2 assists this week.

  • Olli Juolevi also had 2 assists.

  • Jonah Gadjovich scored twice this week giving him 9 goals on the season. He’s riding a 25.7 shooting%.
