The Chicago Blackhawks signed forward Alex DeBrincat to a three-year, $19.2 million contract extension, the team revealed Thursday.
The deal carries an average annual value of $6.4 million and goes through the 2022-23 season for DeBrincat, who was scheduled to end up being a limited free agent in July. The 21-year-old remains in the last season of his entry-level pact with an AAV of $894,166.

DeBrincat tape-recorded career-high totals in objectives (41 ), assists (35) and points (76) while playing in all 82 games last season with the Blackhawks. His goal total was the 6th greatest in the NHL in 2018-19 and trailed just previous Hart Trophy recipient Patrick Kane (44) for the group lead.
