Senators at Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -300 Favorites

The Senators have dealt away many of their best players over the past two years, while the Maple Leafs have stars like John Tavares, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner leading the way heading into their season opener on Wednesday night.  However, the Senators have  won three of the past four meetings between the division rivals, and are 7-3 in their past 10 matchups dating back to January 2017. The OVER is also on a 10-2 run in the last 12 games between the teams for totals bettors at sportsbooks. Ottawa will turn to Craig Anderson between the pipes for Wednesday’s game, while Frederik Anderson will be in Toronto’s net.

Capitals at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -145 Favorites

The last two Stanley Cup champions will square off in St. Louis when the Blues host the Capitals on Wednesday night. Last year, Washington had no problem routing the Boston Bruins 7-0 as a -115 home favorite in its opening game. In fact, the Capitals saw seven total goals or more scored in each of their first three games to open last season, with the OVER cashing each time at betting sites. St. Louis has won the past two meetings between the teams after losing five in a row to Washington, with the OVER 7-3 in their past 10 matchups.

Canucks at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -135 Favorites

Connor McDavid and the Oilers will be looking to some new faces to help them get back to the postseason. McDavid and his teammates have missed the playoffs each of the past two seasons, and Edmonton added winger James Neal and goalie Mike Smith in the offseason in order to help give the team some more valuable veteran experience. The Canucks added to their defense in the summer by signing Tyler Myers, and are expected to give rookie Quinn Hughes an opportunity to shine this season. The Canucks and Oilers have split the past eight meetings between them dating back to 2017, with the UNDER going 5-1-2 during that span.

Sharks at Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -170 Favorites

The Golden Knights host the Sharks on Wednesday night in a rematch of their first-round playoff series from last year. Vegas suffered one of the worst meltdowns in recent memory in blowing a 3-1 series lead and then a 3-0 advantage in the third period of Game 7 at San Jose in an eventual 5-4 overtime loss. Before dropping the last three games of that series the Golden Knights had gone 12-6 in the first 18 meetings between the teams, with the OVER on a 7-2 run in the previous nine matchups. Sharks winger Evander Kane was ejected for pushing an official in the preseason and suspended three games, so he will miss this game.
