An exciting week of DFS puck continues on Friday with six games on the slate. There are a lot of poor defensive teams in action tonight, which should make for a great night of daily fantasy. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, medium-priced, and value stacks below in an effort to help us all make a little bit of money tonight. Good luck!

Washington 1 – Alex Ovechkin ($7,800), Nicklas Backstrom ($5,900), @T.J. Oshie ($5,500)

Washington’s top line draws a terrific matchup tonight against what should be a tired Rangers team. New York travelled overnight after losing in New Jersey on Thursday. The Capitals are using their second line against the opposition’s best on home ice, which bodes well for the production of their top line tonight. Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Oshie should dodge the Mika Zibanejad line, setting them up for some advantageous matchups against New York 2 & 3. Ovie and Backstrom look great at 5v5 this year, averaging over 31 scoring chances per 60. Most of Washington 1’s value comes from the power-play, so it’s always exciting whenever they draw a strong matchup at 5v5. They offer as much upside as any line on the slate and are certainly worth paying for tonight.

Detroit 1 – Anthony Mantha ($5,900), Dylan Larkin ($6,700), Tyler Bertuzzi ($5,300)

Detroit is on the tail-end of a back-to-back after suffering a 5-1 defeat to the Flames last night. While fatigue is a concern here, the matchup for Detroit 1 tonight is too good to ignore. The Larkin line is a model of consistency at even strength, constantly outworking and out-possessing their opponents. They feast on poor possession teams, and that’s exactly what the Oilers are. As a team, Edmonton is averaging 28 scoring chances against per 60 and owns a 45.00 HDCF%. Detroit’s top line should see a mix of all four Edmonton lines tonight, as Oilers head coach Dave Tippett has opted not to line match on home ice this season. The Larkin line can trade blows with Edmonton’s top-six and should dominate lines three and four. The potential fatigue adds some risk to the play, but Detroit 1 offers heavy usage in a strong matchup tonight.

Value Stack

Edmonton 2 – Alex Chiasson ($3,000), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ($5,200), James Neal ($6,100)

On the flip side of things, Edmonton 2 offers a ton of value tonight. It will be difficult for them to produce against the Larkin line, but we’ve already established that this game will be a mixed bag of 5v5 matchups. Nugent-Hopkins and Neal have made Edmonton’s second line their strongest possession unit so far this season. The two of them are averaging 25 scoring chances per 60 while surrendering just 20 to the opposition. They own a 54.70 CF% and should spend plenty of time in Detroit’s end tonight.

Chiasson is expected to be promoted to line two after spending the early parts of the season in Edmonton’s bottom-six. He’s flashed offensive upside in the past and should easily return value on his $3,000 price tag tonight. On top of the favourable 5v5 matchup spread, all three members of Edmonton 2 will see power-play time tonight. Neal and Nugent-Hopkins will skate on the top unit with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Oscar Klefbom, while Chiasson will get some reps with the second unit.
