Less than 24 hours after playing three periods of uninspired hockey in Los Angeles, the Calgary Flames (4-4-1, 9 points) get an immediate shot at redemption when they visit the Anaheim Ducks (6-2-0, 12 points).

The puck drops at 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

The Flames

Projected lines, via Daily Faceoff:

Gaudreau – Monahan – Lindholm
Tkachuk – Backlund – Frolik
Lucic – Ryan – Bennett
Rieder – Jankowski- Czarnik

Giordano – Brodie
Hanifin – Hamonic
Kylington – Andersson

Cam Talbot starts tonight, backed up by David Rittich. The extra body right now is Michael Stone. Sam Bennett didn’t finish the game last night for unspecified reasons, but his status for tonight is unclear.

The Flames were listless and unfocused last night. They were outplayed in basically every game situation by the Kings. And now they’re facing one of the NHL’s hottest teams in a back-to-back situation.

The Ducks

Projected lines, via Daily Faceoff:

Rakell – Henrique – Silfverberg
Comtois – Getzlaf – Kase
Jones – Steel – Terry
Shore – Grant – Rowney

Lindholm – Manson
del Zotto – Fowler
Larsson – Holzer

John Gibson will likely start for the Ducks, backed up by Ryan Miller. The extras are Brendan Guhle, Nicolas Deslauriers and Nick Ritchie.

The Ducks have been superb this season, finding ways to win close games and getting contributions from basically everyone on their roster. They’ve gotten good goaltending, timely goals and pretty savvy defending from their blueline group. They’ll be a huge challenge for an inconsistent Flames group.
