Things are about to get a lot busier for the Winnipeg jets over the next few days. Tonight’s game in Montreal kicks off a stretch of three games in four nights. It’s the first of two times they play three games in four nights before the all-star/player break later this month.

Last Canadiens Game
The Canadiens game up a one goal lead early in the third period and needed to lean on the goaltending for Carey price to at least get them into overtime where they ultimately failed, dropping a 3-2 OT loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Fun Habs Facts…
- Max Domi is on a nine game point streak. On December 29 at Florida, Domi became the first player in franchise history to record a goal streak of at least five games with each contest taking place on the road;
- In 42 games so far this season, the Canadiens have tallied 25 goals in 113 power plays. After 42 contests last season, they had scored 18 goals in 138 power play opportunities.
- Phillip Danault has a career record against the Jets of more than a point per game (5-4-9 in 7 games played).
What They’re Saying…
Expectations were high going into the tournament, not only on Caufield himself but also on Team USA. The quarter-final loss to Finland was nothing but a disappointment, and Caufiled had not much to show for the tournament: one goal and one assist.
The goal, a game-winner against the hosts in overtime, was the highlight. In Caufield’s defence, it was more the coaching and his utilization over the tournament that was suspect, however he didn’t really show a lot with the time he did get.

Last Jets Game
The Jets not only had to battle the Minnesota Wild, but also questionable officiating and at least got a point out of what as overall a disappointing 3-2 overtime loss to division rival Minnesota.
Fun Jets Facts…
- Winnipeg is 12-7-2 on the road this season. Winnipeg’s 26 points earned in road games is tied for fifth in the NHL.
- The Jets can earn points in consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 8-10 with a win tonight, however, the Jets have lost back-to-back games in regulation just once during that 11-game stretch.
- Mark Scheifele has multiple points in three consecutive games which helped him earn a second star of the week nod earlier today. His eight points (3G, 5A) in the past trio of contests has vaulted him into 12th in NHL scoring with 48 points (20G, 28A) in 42 games.
What We’re Saying…
Also possibly making his return to the Jets lineup tonight is one Andrew Copp who was seen in a regular practice jersey on Sunday. He’s been out of the lineup since December 17.
As for the Canadiens, they might have Ilya Kovalchuk making his Montreal debut tonight as well as he was seen in his first practice with the Habs on Sunday, although Claude Julien wouldn’t commit just then to Kovy being in the lineup. While Winnipeg fans never saw him play for the hometown club, up until a couple of weeks ago he held the record for most points in Jets/Thrashers franchise history.
