There’s been some changes in the Jets lineup as of late and nobody really knows how the Jets are going to respond. Regardless of injuries and players being shuffled around, the schedule never stops as the Canucks are in town tonight. This marks the first meeting between the two clubs since Tyler Myers chose to leave Winnipeg and sign with Vancouver in the off-season. Seeing former teammates always provides some extra motivation so this could be a fun game to watch.

Last Canucks Game
Vancouver had a bit of a rough night in Chicago less than 24 hours ago in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. The Canucks fell behind early and often and while they did play better as the game went on, they weren’t able to catch up.
Fun Canucks Fact…
It seems that all Myers needed was a change of scenery to become a much more effective player. Even with a small sample size, it’s really interesting to see that Myers is essentially breaking this chart in terms of CF/60. In terms of actual numbers, Myers has a CF/60 of 70.53 per naturalstattrick. That puts him second among all NHL defensemen. In addition, he’s also preventing shots relatively well because he currently has the 10th best CF% at 56.56% among all defenders in the league. It’s been a really nice bounce back year for Myers who is finally achieving some success in the underlying metrics.
What They’re Saying…
“Green is deploying his forwards in a very different fashion than he did in 2018/19 – taking a downright egalitarian approach to line-matching and zone starts that have made the Canucks much more difficult to handle, and even harder to beat.”

Last Jets Game
It was an interesting game on Tuesday night as the Jets took on the Devils. Both teams struggled to find the back of the net as the Devils scored early in the game but couldn’t muster anything else. Winnipeg on the other hand tied the game midway through the second where the score remained unchanged until a shootout. With last month’s shootout still in recent memory, the Devils were able to flip things around and get the better of the Jets this time.
Fun Jets Facts…
- Despite the loss against New Jersey, the Jets love the extra time after the third period. The Jets currently sit with the leagues best record in overtime at 3-0 while also commanding a respectable record of 2-1 in shootouts. When combining those two stats, the Jets currently lead the league in games won in extra time with five.
What We’re Saying…
Hey, speaking of special teams, the Jets no longer boast the worst penalty kill in the league! thanks to a 3 for 3 PK night against the Devils and thanks to the Detroit Red Wings commitment to remaining awful in that department, the Jets now have the 30th best penalty kill in the NHL at 70.59%.
