Welcome to TheLeafsNation Game Day where we take a look at today’s Leafs game and a few other things happening around the league.
Can the Toronto Maple Leafs score a hat trick sweep of the Vancouver Canucks tonight? The Leafs look to close out their three-game home-stand against the Canucks tonight, before heading out on the road for a Wednesday game in Montreal.

If there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that there’s probably going to be a few goals tonight. Toronto has poured it on in the last two games against the Canucks with 7-3 and 5-1 victories. Tonight, I’d be willing to bet that more of the same will continue.
Who I like
They won’t be cheap, but stacking Auston Matthews ($8,800) and Mitch Marner ($7,700) is once again, far from a terrible choice. Matthews has scored four goals in the last two games, while Marner has a goal and five assists on his own. Look for their multi-game point streaks to likely continue tonight.
Jake Muzzin ($4,700) has provided good value all year, too. Last game he scored 11.4 fantasy points without registering a single point on the score sheet. He’s a guy that eats puck defensively, and there’s value to be had in that.
Vancouver’s offence has struggled to get going in these games, so it’s a spot I’m likely fading them in. However, if you’re looking for someone from Vancouver, Quinn Hughes ($5,400) and Brock Boeser ($5,700) has provided solid value all year long.
Around the NHL
Mike Smith ($6,500) gets the start tonight for the Edmonton Oilers against an Ottawa Senators team they beat up on heavily all year. While it is his first game of the season, it’s about as solid of a matchup as you may find this year for his dollar cost. Connor McDavid ($9,000) and Leon Draisaitl ($8,200) are also a stackable option after tearing the Senators up last week.
Jakob Chychrun ($5,000) has been somewhat of a DFS darling this season averaging 11 FPPG. He’s scored eight points in 11 games and plays all sorts of minutes for the Coyotes.
Anthony Cirelli ($5,000) is quietly having a strong year with the Lightning scoring eight points in nine games averaging 9.2 FPPG. He has another solid matchup tonight against the Nashville Predators.
