The Toronto Maple Leafs have loaned D Jake Muzzin to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies for a conditioning stint, the team announced Thursday.

Muzzin, 30, joins a Marlies club who is on the road this weekend with back-to-back away games against Cleveland on Friday and Saturday.

The Maple Leafs acquired the rearguard last January in exchange for F Carl Grundstrom, the rights to D Sean Durzi and Toronto’s first-round pick in last year’s draft.

Muzzin has played in 68 games between last season and this posting 29 points. This year he has three goals and 10 assists 38 games.
